The Falls Emergency Rescue Plan sets out how to safely retrieve a person who has fallen from a height and is suspended in a harness, with clear protocols for workplaces where people work at height.

It covers the responsibilities of the organisation, rescue personnel and the rescue supervisor, the assembly, maintenance and inspection of rescue equipment, disciplinary violations, and what to consider when planning a rescue, including suspension trauma.

It includes a pre-planning checklist to confirm you are prepared before an incident occurs, and a site-specific falls rescue plan to record the site's rescue method, rescue and communication equipment, trained personnel and sign-off.

It suits work at height in construction, telecommunications and utilities, and the safety officers and site supervisors responsible for it. It is part of the Health and Safety Manual.
