How to control plant roll-away or roll-over

  1. Park on firm, level ground where possible, apply the park brake, lower attachments, chock wheels and remove the key.
  2. Use plant fitted with rollover protective structures and seatbelts, and make sure operators wear the seatbelt.
  3. Assess slopes, edges and ground bearing before work, and keep plant back from excavations and embankments.
  4. Tip only on firm, level ground, and check the load is spread evenly and the tailgate is free before raising.
  5. Chock trailers and lower the jockey wheel or stands before uncoupling, and never stand in a trailer's path.

Typical controls, most effective first. Your SWMS sets the controls for your own job and site.
